“Desserts Around the World” - Language Lizard’s Living in Harmony Series Celebrating Cultural Diversity

Seller Spotlight

“I love dessert!”

And, honestly, who doesn’t? Regardless of where someone is from and what language they speak, everyone enjoys good food, especially a delicious dessert! From decadent Cannolis to symbolic Dasik’s, desserts are grounded in tradition and play a central role in many of life’s sweetest moments.

Language Lizard’s “Desserts Around the World'' is a fun and mouth-watering way to travel the globe and discover some of the world’s most popular and yummy treats. This fun companion video to Language Lizard’s Living in Harmony Book Series illustrates how a unique dessert from Israel might look very different from one from the Philippines, but they have more in common than you think! Exploring these sweet treats allows us to celebrate one another’s cultures all while fostering an understanding and acceptance of one another.

Check out Language Lizard’s Living in Harmony Book Series which celebrates diversity, kindness, and friendship with its three titles Be Kind, We Can All Be Friends, and Who Are We? These beautifully illustrated books include diverse characters and settings from around the world, allowing children to see themselves in the book and learn about the world around them.

Each book is available in English-only as well as bilingual offerings in Amharic, Arabic, Burmese, Chinese (with Pinyin), Dari, Farsi, French, German, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Hmong, Italian, Japanese, Karen (Sgaw), Korean, Nepali, Pashto, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Tagalog, Telugu, Tigrinya, Urdu, and Vietnamese (with more languages coming soon). Like many of Language Lizard’s other resources, these books come with free multicultural lessons and activities to support culturally responsive teaching.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even try your hand at baking one of the desserts from the video!
